Frequently Asked Questions

How often am I expected to complete trainings?

All new employees must pass the introductory and advanced courses in their department's training module to be entrusted to operate alone on the job.  From there, all technicians should take at least one of the ongoing training courses per month.

What if I was taught to do things differently?

Every pool company has its way of operating.  If we do things a bit differently than how you were taught, have a conversation with your manager to better understand why we operate the way we do!  Feedback is crucial and we may even adopt your suggested way of doing things!

How can I promote within Gary Pools?

If you have a desire to grow and the work ethic to back that up, we'd love for you to advance within the company!  We require all employees be employed for no fewer than 6 months prior to being eligible for promotion.  If you are in good standing with the company and you've met the employment length requirement, you are welcome to apply to any open position in the company.  Please prepare to re-interview with the manager of the department you are applying to!

How can I request additional training on a subject matter?

We are consistently adding new training resources to broaden the scope of our training.  If you notice we have a gap in our training or want to make a suggestion, refer to the link in the Questions & Suggestions box on this page to submit what training you'd like to be made available!
